gilt bronze and ivory figure,
circa1925
Modelled as a dancer in rich
costume with one leg raised and
arms held back,
raised on marble base signed to
the plinth P. Philippe and 134
stamped to the underside of the
lower foot.

DAMAGE
Ivory parts of the sculpture,
hands and face cracks, bronze
parts with original polychrome
paint were worn and soiled,
on the top of the original
polychrome finish was a layer
of later bronze power oil paint.
RESTORATION
The Ivory parts were cleaned,
cracks were bleached and filled
in, the cracks were painted over
to match the original Ivory to
disquise the cracks. Bronze parts
were carefully cleaned of the
previous repair and dirt; original
polychrome finish was restored
and preserved.
